The department of Real Estate Development consists of Development and Strategic Planning, Modernization and Construction Services and the Center for Affordable Homeownership. The department is structured to provide a unified containment of affordable housing for our residents
Through the department of Real Estate Development the Authority is positioned to build new housing or acquire developments of mixed income, mixed-used and market rate quality. This set up will operate in manner that would allow for profit to be attained in the development and acquisition of properties in the Hillsborough County area. The idealized profit visualization, although novel for a Housing Authority, is a very important goal for THA. It will minimize self economic dependence from HUD and allow for more creative ventures of housing opportunities. To that extent, THA’s Real Estate Development department has continued to seek out partnerships and opportunities for the ascertainment of those goals.
